Thoughts on Current Events:
I watched a little bit of the democratic convention. I was able to catch the piece on John McGain and a little bit of Obama's speech.
Am I planning to vote in November? I haven't made a decision because I am not happy with either choice.
Here is the cartoon that I saw that was funny:
I was reading the news from home and saw this article. A man is suing the governor and other government officials for requiring health mandates. This shows anyone can sue anyone and some people are are clueless about Covid-19.

Adventures for the week..
This week has been wild. One appointment after another and things didn't always go as planned, but I survived.
On Monday, I meet with the insurance agent to switch my auto insurance. I went to the office near my home, but it turned out that my appointment was at another location. I made my way to the correct place, but I was 20 minutes late.
On Wednesday, I drove to one place that I need to pick up something and that went smoothly, but when I attempted to find where I had to go next week it took me an hour and half. Why so long? I did use the Garmin, but someone told me it was by In and Out Burger, but it was no close to there. I was so frustrated by the time I found the place.
On Thursday, I had to leave my car at Honda for several hours. Due to Convid, the courtesy van is not operating, but they will pay for Lyft to take you home. I was glad to have this service. The check engine light came on and I was positive it would cost a mint to fix it. I got lucky the expense was Honda's. The thermostat went out, but it was not my expense. Thank goodness.
Oh my goodness, trying to find a post office here is difficult. There are regular Post Offices in neighborhoods through out the city. I found a Post Office in a grocery store, but when I got there a note was posted that read, "Gone Fishing be back at 4 p.m." On Friday, I returned to the same Post Office and was able to have my package mailed. Bonus while at the grocery store, I found an adorable flamingo balloon.
Friday, I got my haircut. The gal was so cute when I asked how long she had been cutting hair. She just got her license last year. This was her second salon because she laid off from another salon due to Convid. She was so nervous. She kept asking what I wanted her to do. She was so slow, I was so glad I wasn't paying per the hour. She did a good job and I would give her another chance.
The salon was different. They took each person's temperature. You had to fill out a form and wash your hands before they would cut your hair. The stations were set up in a horizontal line. Due to Convid, they don't have people working at each station, but I think it would be quite crowded if they did. I am used to salon where people are spread out in free standing stations that has one person on the front and one on the back, so you are not sitting next to each other.
I didn't spent a lot of time on my computer in virtual meetings. I only had one meeting.
I let Costco deliver because I didn't want to ventured into Costco again. It was great I placed the order around 5 p.m. and it was delivered to my door by 6:30 p.m.
I ate in the restaurant for the first time here. I met with a colleague. I was a little nervous , but it was nice to get out. Having Hawaiian food was yummy. The woman I met with was different from myself. She has had a chaotic life. Why do I say that? She got a DUI a couple of years ago, her 13 year old daughter is living with her mother on the east coast, her boyfriend just completed a three week alcohol rehab program, and she is living in a dorms because of her financial situation. She didn't ask me to for anything. She is new too, so she asked me to meet up because she was lonely and doesn't know anyone. We don't have a lot in common, but she seemed nice. I can be nice to her, polite and respectful of her, but I want no part of her drama.
Next week adventures....
I return to campus. I am nervous, scared, hope I don't catch Convid. I am also a little excited to start the new semester. I excited for the new people I will meet and the new things I will learn.
I am going to pick up some items at the public library. I was able to get a library card online and request items. I am so happy to be able to continue reading. I am picking up another good one by Jen Lancaster.
Anything stupid or funny that I have done this week?
I locked myself out of my home. I had the key, but I left the bar down on the front door, so I couldn't get in. Thankfully, the neighbor hopped the fence and opened the door to the garage and I was able to get in through the garage.
Odd request of the week..
Due to the heatwave, we are being asked to conserve electric. We have been asked to close all blinds and shut off all lights. I will be in sitting in the dark if I do both. I think I will leave the blinds opened.
