One year anniversary of leaving my crappy job

A year ago, on May 19, 2020 I walked out and quit my job. Please scroll down to read the entry, if you don't recall what happened.

What did I learn from this experience?

The leadership was super phony. I was told by some that they really cared about me, but it was all a lie. I have not heard from any of them since I left.

The leadership sided with the woman who discriminated against me.

How did she discriminate against me?  She punished me for going to the doctor and allowed a male employee to go to the doctor without any consequences. My bonus was decreased because of the punishment.

I also faced discrimination by an immigrant. I was told, "It's not my fault you are white."

The employer was super focused on no discrimination against anyone's race and  an members of the LGBTQIA community, that they failed to recognize discrimination against white women.

I learned that I will NEVER work below my education level again. I was too damn smart for the job. I knew more about management than the actual managers. Example, I volunteered to work the election and was told that I would have to use my vacation time or I wouldn't be allowed to participate. I had to go over my boss' head, so I didn't have to use my vacation time.

I always participated in any fundraiser, food day, volunteer opportunity, I organized boss' days, and birthday celebrations. How was I treated in return? Well, I was hospitalized twice in one year for surgeries, one in March and one in December and I received NOTHING. The leadership couldn't even be bothered to send me a 99 cent card.

After I told my employer I was in the hospital, I was required to call in each day. I was out for almost two months. I was told that if I didn't  I wouldn't have a job.

I cannot imagine ever treating someone the way I was treated by these people.

I learned NEVER to tolerate verbal abuse by anyone and that includes customers. I was forced to take a lot of verbal abuse and it traumatized me. Am I over exaggerating? Nope. It has taken me months to heal.
