Rejection Sucks

For the past two years, I have dreamed about being an advocate for women experiencing dating violence. When I got sick in 2019, I had to put it off because I was too ill. Last year, I planned my move, so I was here in time for training to start. In 2020, training was cancelled because of the pandemic. 

A couple of weeks ago, I had an interview for a volunteer advocate position.  Today, I was told that I was not good enough. I was told that they had better candidates with more experience. No one else will allow me to be an advocate because I don't have enough experience. I cannot get any experience. It is a vicious cycle. 

I will finish my education, but my dream of running a domestic violence center for women is out of the question. Without getting experience, there really is not any hope.
