Bombshell

 Tonight, I watched Bomshell. If you are not familiar with it, it depicts the sexual harassment allegations against Roger Ailes and the women who stood up to him.

Many times, I get discouraged when I ask how to do something and a faculty member says, "Most students don't...." Today, I need to be reminded to keep fighting. I am glad I came across this movie today.

Now I know why he was mean to me

  A couple of weeks ago, I learned some interesting information. A former supervisor, who was not kind to me because, in his eyes, I was deemed a horrible woman for being a childless, unmarried woman. For some reason, he felt the need to constantly put me down because my views did not align with his. He believed all women were put on this planet to serve their husbands and bear their children. Anyway, I learned that this man has been living a lie. He is actually gay and only married with children because the church told him to. Years ago, I remember this man giving thousands of dollars to support Proposition 8 in California, which was a state constitutional amendment stating that heterosexual marriage is the only kind of real marriage. Now, he is admitting that he is attracted to men and is going to stay married because he believes he can pray the gay away. So, maybe he was mean to me because he has never been able to live as his authentic self.

 I am still processing this. First thoughts... shocked about the racism they experienced disgusted sad angry hatred All of my feelings right now are not positive about this situation. Well, I guess I am thrilled they are having a little girl and I am optimistic that they will get their happily ever after.
