Katie's Story

 Today, Juvi went to court for his domestic violence and criminal mischief charges. Later in the later, he was arraigned on the shop lifting charge. If you do not recall a warrant was issued for his failure to appear on the charge.  I don't know for sure how things went down because I was not there.  Here is my best guess. Juvi arrived at 8:30 a.m. for his other two charges and he was arrested on the outstanding warrant, which he was arraigned later on in the day.  Now he heads back to court in October for all three charges. Oh, his girlfriend also has a court date on the same date as his. I don't know what she did. 

 Well, the legal authorities must have had a change of heart because a warrant has been issued for him not appearing on the shopping lifting charge. Oh, also he's girlfriend is due in court next week. I don't know the charge.  His girlfriend's brother was arrested yesterday for robbery and leaving the scene of an accident.  These are just a great outstanding group of citizens. (sarcasm) 

If you lose your dog, your cattle are running down the street, or even loose a keychain it will be posted on FB. So, it can be returned to the rightful owner. There is nothing bad about this practice. It just something that you would never see in the big city.  Here are some of the posts. 

My mother is a very sweet lady, but the woman doesn't hear well. She knows it. I know it and so do others. She keeps putting off getting a hearing aid because she doesn't want to spend her money on it. Her insurance won't cover any of the cost. The other say she went to the post office to mail an item. When we left, she asked if the lady told her that her item would be there later today. She was surprised it could get there so fast, since it had to travel over a 1,000 miles. I explained to her that the lady told her that it would arrive on Tuesday.  I have no idea how she got later today out of Tuesday. 

I am probably the most annoying person on the planet, if you have Husker gear on. Each time I see someone decked out, I have to ask, "Are you from Nebraska?" Only once I have been met with a no. The first woman I met was in line at Hobby Lobby or maybe it was JoAnn's. I don't remember, which one. Of course, she was decked out and I asked her. She was from the Western part of the state, and she had been out here for many years. Another time, a guy was in front of me at the Costco gas station and his truck was completely decked out in Husker gear. He had gone to Creighton for college and his sister had gone to Doane University. I don't recall what part of the state he was from.  I have met others from NE in areas that attract tourists, which is not surprising.  Today,  I met a guy at Costco from Omaha, NE. He told me that he had met two other people a few hours before that were from Omaha. Oh, the one person that I met that wasn't from NE, was wearing a Husker...

 I got behind in updating this blog again, but at least this time it didn't take months for me get back to it. In the last couple of weeks, I have some adventures. The biggest news is that I adopted a dog. Her name is Maxie. You will be able to read more about her here  The Adventures of Maxie the Dog . I am still working to get that one up and running. So, please be patient with me. I am still working on the same project. I am transcribing things, and it is a tedious process. Oh, my employer forgot to pay me. How does that happen? I still not sure what happened, but I did finally get paid.  Mom won the drawing at Trader Joe's for bring in a reusable bag. She doesn't always bring one. One time she placed the bag by her feet so she wouldn't forget it. We arrived in the store, and I asked her where the bag was. She had kicked it out of her way when she got out of the car. Whoops! I did receive my check from the drycleaners for my lost comforter. I have not repalced it yet...

Juvi was supposed to appear on July 25th for a shoplifting charge, but he didn't show up.  It appears that the county will not be taking any further action on this case. See their response below: Arraignment was attempted on 07/25 but the defendant failed to appear. There is no future date scheduled on this case and no future actions filed at this time. So, I guess the moral of this story is don't show up for court and you will never have to face the consequences of your actions.  An overhaul of officials in the County Attorney's Office is needed.
