Issues in Nebraska Schools

FOR FAMILIES OR FRIENDS OF KIDS IN NEBRASKA PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS
There's A LOT of proposals going around this year for our kids that aren't getting much attention or information out. In case you haven't heard of any of this, I wanted to get a quick post out with items that you may want to go learn about.
NEBRASKA HEALTH EDUCATION STANDARDS
Proposals including CSE (comprehensive sex education) and CRT (critical race theory). These proposals have had a couple of meetings on drafts but is still in the works.
PROPOSED BILL LB281
LB281 require child sex abuse prevention programs for all staff and students. This is on hold as they are waiting to see how how the CSE proposals go first.
RULE 10 AND RULE 14
Both of these currently set the standards for a school to be accredited. SBOE had been meeting since late last year to see if these should be taken out. These rules protect schools from making these new standards mandatory. So if they are removed, your school CANNOT opt out.
BOOK DONATIONS FROM AN ANONYMOUS GROUP
more than 400 books which are all geared towards early education on gender identity have been donated to OPS and MPS schools. Teachers speaking out on it were told these will be used next year.
BUFFETT EARLY CHILD INSTITUTE
Had an online meeting with Sarpy and Douglas county teachers last month on equity training (CRT). The video for that will be in the comments.

Today, I walked out and quit my job. Huh? Am I serious? Yep, absolutely. If you have a Dyson Animal 3 listen up.

The recline feature suddenly stops working. About a year ago, I decided to splurge on a good vacuum because I was tired of replacing the vacuum every few years. Well, I vacuumed, shut it off and tried to use it the next day and wouldn’t recline. After trying some of the tips online, I gave up and called Dyson. After an hour wait, the guy told me that this model had a defect. So, if I send it back, they will send me a replacement. So, now I am waiting for a replacement. I am also wondering why they don’t recall it.

Why don't I share my political views on social media?

 I don't share my political views because it usually leads to disagreement amongst people and frankly, I don't feel like arguing with anyone. Also, I have to be careful about my conduct on a social media platform because of my job. I must protect my source of income and my future. I will always speak out against violence against women and violence prevention because those are my areas of research.
