new city, new sate, new home Moving is a pain. I dislike moving, but I am excited to start this new chapter of my life. So far I have learned where a few things are such as the gas station, Walmart, Target, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Whole Foods, and other places. Moving doesn't mean that I have stopped being careful to protect myself from Covid. I quarantined for two weeks after arriving. I am happy to report that after traveling through multiple states, I arrived without contracting the virus.I still order all items online and pick them up by contactless pick up or have them delivered to the house. I did go into a couple of stores today. Why? I had to return an item. I had to look for something that I couldn't order online. It was very odd to be in store because it has been a long time. It felt good to walk through a store, but I was also very scared. Things are being done differently here. Per the state and local government orders, masks are r...

update on hoa drama Sorry to disappoint you all, but I don't have any HOA drama anymore. I moved and left that all behind. I do have a Juvi update for the loyal followers who enjoy an update on Juvi. Juvi (no it's not his real name) got his name Juvi because I didn't know what his name was and when he became my neighbor he was a juvenile delinquent. Fast forward a few years and he is no longer a juvenile, but he now has an adult record. Juvi went to court this week for disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, and interfering with a police officer. I don't know what punishment he received. I do know that Juvi is due back in court for another case in August. I don't know what he did. I don't miss Juvi and I am thankful that I haven't met anyone similar to Juvi.

I know school districts and parents have difficult choices to make, whether or not to send their children to school or homeschool them. What is the right choice? It all depends on the parent and the child. Not one size fits all. I do think that school districts need to make a plan and move forward because without a plan it puts the students and teachers in limbo. In my area all students will be doing distance learning. Parents are now scrambling to juggle work and teaching their children. I watched an interview with one woman who says she is a single working mom, so she has hired a babysitter/tutor to stay with her kids. A teacher in Kearney, NE shared with me that she doesn't know if she will be teaching in the classroom or remotely this year. She is so frustrated because school is scheduled to start in two weeks. Whether you choose to send your kids to school or homeschool them, I hope it all works out well for you.

Day 3.. of traveling.... no toll boths again. Thankfully!! We survived our night in the motel. I still prefer hotels to motels. If you want to call me a snob for that, feel free to do so. Anyway as I said in a previous post, the place was clean and the staff was doing the best they could. I simply don't feel safe in motels. Being in a motel made it easier to load the SUV in the morning. I was able to pull up right next to the door and load everything. We headed out to get gasoline and found that the gas stations were only opened for pay at the pump. This is something I am not a fan of because my card was once skimmed in Omaha. Our next stop was McDonald's. Oh yes, we had a delicious breakfast of burritos at McDonald's. As we headed down I-40 west it began to rain. It didn't last long. At our first stop, it was so nice to step out of the car without any humidity. However, the dog would prefer grass and humidity. She did go potty in the dirt, but she didn't l...

Day 2 traveling....518 miles traveled. Traveled through TX, NM, and entered AZ. No toll booths. We left Amarillo, TX a little later than we planned because we were tired from the day before. We slept in, took our time getting ready, and then headed down for breakfast. The hotel had a great continental hot breakfast. The staff served you. No one could serve themselves due to Covid-19. The offerings were scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, muffins, and fruit. You had the option of eating in your room or sitting at the limited seating section. Once we were ready to leave, the waiting began because only one family traveling together was allowed in the elevator. With two elevators and five floors it took a while. We also had to wait for a cart to carry all of our items. This was the first day of traveling on the interstate the whole way. No more highways, which meant no more delays by farmers moving machinery or speed limits of 55 mph. We thought we would make ...

Day 1 of traveling........... We traveled 590 miles. Without any stops it is 9 hours and 51 minutes. We knew yesterday was going to be a long day because we had lots of stops planned. Our first stop was in Hanover, KS at the park across the street from the hospital. In the 1990's my great grandpa was in the Hanover Hospital, so we knew a park was across the street. Our second stop was in Salina, KS. Our third stop was in Great Bend, KS. The worker at Sonic directed us to a great park with a man made lake, and dog park, which the dog loved. Our forth stop was in Dodge City, KS. We stopped at the hotel near the Casino to let the dog play in the grass. Our fifth stop was in Spearman, TX where everyone got ice cream, including the dog. The dog loves pup cups, but they don't do that in Texas, so she got a small dish of vanilla ice cream. Don't worry we all had ice cream. Around 8 p.m. we arrived at our hotel in...
